Teens and Stress

Hi Everyone,

     I spent the day with some high school students who were learning how to relieve stress.  When I asked them what they have to be stressed about, they gave me a laundry list.  They say they overload themselves with extra-curricular activities to stay out of trouble and so that they’ll look better on college applications.  They’re also stressed about tests,  relationships, family life, and yes, swine flu.  They received some interesting stress relieving tips for each day of the week from Relaxation Therapist Azaad Khaira, who gave me permission to pass them on to you.  

Monday…Give compliments

Tuesday…Do something new that you’ve never done before

Wednesday….Show gratitude

Thursday….Acts of Random Kindness (ARK). Pay for the guy behind you at the toll booth or the coffee shop.

Friday….Forgiveness.  And that means forgiving yourself.

And when all else fails…..laugh!
